Appendix D - Importing Data From Connect Daily Into Google Calendar
To add a Connect Daily calendar into your Google Calendar, follow these steps:
- Copy the iCal URL for your calendar onto your clipboard. To find the URL, view the calendar and click on the icon. Copy the URL for the calendar you want to import. Note that with Google calendar, you can only copy a calendar URL. Copying URLs for resources or event types will not work.
If you don't see the icon, your calendar administrator may have turned off iCal export. You'll need to re-enable it in System | Configuration | Sync/Export Options. - Login to Google Calendar using your browser.
- In the Other Calendars area, click on the down-arrow on the right side and choose "Add by URL" and paste in the URL.
- If the Connect Daily calendar you're subscribing is not publicly visible, you will need to add your user name and password to the calendar URL. Add ?username=yourname&password=yourpassword to the end of the URL.
Your calendar will now be visible in your Google calendar.
Note
Events added to Connect Daily may not be visible for up to 24 hours. In our tests, we saw around 14 hours pass between the time the calendar was subscribed and an update happened. There is a thread on the google support forum (since 2009) for calendar asking Google to address this, but there has been no response to the posts.
